In 2011 this painting was selected for Zomerexpo 2011 at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, now the Kunstmuseum. It was chosen from 4,750 submissions by established and unestablished artists alike, and the jury judged the work anonymously: they did not know whose it was. The exhibition ran from 9 July to 21 August 2011. The painting is included in the exhibition catalogue, Anoniem gekozen, published by d'jonge Hond in 2011 and held in the library of the Rijksmuseum, where it appears on page 116 under its Dutch title, Visioen.
The catalogue entry reads: "A visual triptych. A world created from dark to light, mirroring the painting technique itself, which works from dark towards light."
When I created this three-panel work, I poured everything into the details, spending countless hours on each element. The process was intense, and I experienced visions that guided the painting as much as my hands did. Every shape and texture was carefully considered, and the result is a finely crafted, highly detailed surreal piece that challenges perception and invites the viewer to explore its layers and meanings.

Free pickup from my studio in Haarlem. Netherlands and Belgium: € 100. Rest of the EU: € 350 (up to 100 cm), € 500 (100 cm and above). Outside the EU: € 700 (up to 100 cm), € 950 (100 cm and above). Paintings are shipped crated and insured. Original paintings are exempt from import duty in most countries, including the United States (HTS code 9701). Any import VAT or local sales tax remains the buyer's responsibility.
